Nick Cannon isn’t someone I pay much attention to, because to be honest I don’t know who he is outside of being Mariah Carey’s ex-husband, but recently, he’s been a topic of discussion on social media over one particular subject.

When I saw this headline, my jaw dropped!
And once I pulled up Google and did some quick research, I was even more shocked.
That headline didn’t lie. This man has is expecting his EIGHTH child, but not just 8th. He‘s 8th child with the FIFTH different women!
Before I even get into my own personal thoughts and opinions, let’s see what some people on social media were saying about the news.

Should We Call Out Nick or Nah?
Now, when it comes to Nick Cannon expecting his 8th child with 5 different women, IT’S DISGUSTING!
There’s a long list of why this kind of behavior should NOT be normalized, so let’s get into it.
Monogamy and Polygamy

During an interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Nick Cannon talked about monogany and why he doesn’t “subcribe” to it, calling it a “Eurocentric concept,” and also discussed why monogamy isn’t natural for men as a whole on his talk show “Nick Cannon Radio.

Now here’s the thing,... if Nick Cannon has zero desire for a serious relationship and just wants to “have fun” with women, I don’t care! But him intentionally having children with all these different women is borderline gross because all he’s doing is creating more and more broken homes.
Broken Homes
I’m seeing some people who see no issue with this behavior, and are justifying it by saying that Nick has more than enough money to raise 8 kids, and to that I say, money is not all it takes to raise kids.

One minute social media’s complaining about parents spoiling their kids with money and the next minute y’all insinuating that money’s the only thing needed to raise a kid???
I don’t care how much money that man has, kids need attention and I know damn well that man is not able to give all 8 of those kids the attention they need.
Nick Cannon is apparently a rapper, comedian, television presenter, film producer, record producer, TV personality, entrepreneur, businessperson, composer, screenwriter, radio personality, actor, TV producer, talk show host, and everything in between, and with a schedule that full, you want me to believe he’s able to be a completely present father to the 7 kids he has in multiple different households?
Unless he has all those kids and women living under one roof and traveling with him constantly, I don’t believe it!
Lupus
What’s even more insane than people acting like the way Nick Cannon moves is normal, is the reasoning that Nick himself gave, which was: LUPUS

So lemme get this straight, because of his health issues and the fact that he’s not expected to live as long as most people, he’s living “freely,’ and that “freely” includes having a bunch of kids by a bunch of different women?
And what happens if that time comes and he’s now left a bunch of kids fatherless all because he wanted to ”live freely?
This is the same man that talks about Black Power and strengthening the black community yet this is his behavior?
This comment isn’t even only directed towards Nick Cannon only. It’s directed to everyone in the black community who condemn this type of behavior, yet go on and on about how we need to uplift the black community, how we need to do better as a community and create less broken homes, etc.
I say this upfront and freely ‘cause I know Nick Cannon don’t care. That man’s not gonna stop creating unstable homes just ‘cause I feel a certain way. He‘s gonna keep doing him, and I can only hope those kids are taken care of beyond what money can buy, but even then, what kind of example is he setting for his sons and daughters?
